In an article on why airships will never be part of our transportation infrastructure i responded:
Thank you so much for the history of the airship. I really appreciated it even if your conclusions were let us say a bit myopic. But in my experience engineers are always a bit so. After my death I'll tell you why. But again thank you and I really mean no disrespect because engineers are very necessary to making things where dreamers like me sometimes never get off the ground and at times even get lost in the clouds.
After doing much thinking about this I discovered something which makes it possible for airships to survive but to be the Saviour of our future. If we think about global warming and consequences we find that trains have a hard time underwater and so do trucks. Now airplanes will be able to fly but airports will be under water. Now a airship is very flexible in a world gone lets say mad. But I have kept my secrets a long time and it was over 10 years ago I discovered this. But how can you trust an old man who chases windmills and believes in rigid airships(whoops). Now for the intelligent reader obviously excluding engineers you might find a hint in what I am saying. So after I die I'll tell you all in my memoirs. Because at this moment if I had the backing I would be making billions proving him wrong. The world is safe because at the moment I am poor. But in the future maybe by accident I will break the egg that I am enclosed in. Now here is a though. When we become a human being we differentiate at certain times certain cells become part of us and latter on more sophisticated cells come along until you get us a human being. Now in jest I would say engineers are very early in the differentiation process. Now for some reason I haven't differentiated and so my 10 - billion dollar ideas lay dormant. I have always had fun poking engineers because they are so arrogant. But it is only fun on my part. And so here I sit in my egg waiting to differentiate and achieve my goal of first bypass flight to Alpha Centauri. Just an old man and impossible dreams, right? I mean it would probably take me 50 years to do that. I watch Nasa TV and I feel so sad. My GOD what are spacesuits for. I mean if you had to put one on to save your life you would be long dead. And the space shuttle is dying with nothing to replace it. America has lost its vision(obviously engineers have taken over). Oh well shut the lights out send the engineers home we are done with the shuttle, space and silly notions like scifi. I think my thread is done RIP NASA
