My Dreams My Choices
Dear reader this is a nice book and flows gently along. Since I have been in Kenya I would like to explain a few things. In Kenya education is everything the whole society revolves around it with national test and ranking and children striving to be the best. In Kenya it is a common practice to bribe the teachers to get your child into her/his classes. And unlike the USA they have school fees. And if you don't pay they will beat your child. Anyway this book shows you the general scope of education in Kenya. But is far more brutal than she relates here. If I related to you the stories and heartbreaks I have encountered in Kenya you would be reduced to tears. As I often was. But I am an example of Clementine's spirit as at the age of 65 walking out of a hospital and getting on a plane to Kenya. And as I arrived the riots began but as a white man I was treated with respect but God help u if u were a Luo in Nairobi or a Kikuyu in Kisumu many people died and so many buses arrived in Kisumu with refuges. But I never regretted going to Kenya as I learned so much about my self. And as she says "be courageous, do what you have never done, go where you have never been, and you will see the change." I came to Africa and she came to USA different sides of the same coin. Read the book it is a good book and will not take you long to read. I downloaded as an ebook and don't regret it as it was a good book i recommend it without reservation.
