I am suffering from Post traumatic media withdrawal  I have lived almost 5 months without a TV and 2 months without a computer. As a results I have become entranced with the oral society which i live in. My soon to be wife chews a weed and blows into my eyes. She keeps doing this until she asks does it hurt yet and then spits out the herb. Strange stories of remote healing a fascinating concept. Seeing a society  with only oral traditions adopt the cell phone. Also the backyard producing bananas and of course the tree with produces a ton of fruit, the jack fruit tree. The jack fruit averages about 20lbs but can go up to 80lbs  sitting under the jack fruit tree may sound prosaic but can be dangerous. The fruit has inside about 20-30 pods which contain the seeds about the size of a small walnut. The pods are delicious as  they have a sweet slightly rubbery consistency. There are other interesting foods , cassava, sweet potato and of course corn. Coming from a heavy media based society to an oral society can be frustrating but that is the adventure.
